Amateur Radio Exam Sessions (VE)

The North Shore Radio Club conducts amateur radio exams on Chromebook PCs we provide. We can accommodate up to 12 candidates per session. We are using HAMSTUDY.ORG for paperless test and immediate grading and results. By filing with the ARRL at the same day of the test, the FCC will receive the upload the next day. Most candidates have their new licenses or confirmation of the upgrade in two or three days after the exam. 

We charge a $15.00 fee in cash to take the exam. We forward all monies received directly to the ARRL. You must also bring a Government Issued Photo ID.

All amateur radio exams are conducted at the:

All candidates must register online at https://hamstudy.org/sessions/nsrc

Those seeking a new license will be directed to the FCC site to receive an FRN (Federal Registration Number). Those seeking an upgrade to their licence will register using their FRN. 

We ask that candidates arrive when the library opens at 1:00pm, so we can start promptly. 

The FCC charges a $35 fee to all new licensees. Candidates will receive an email from the FCC with a link to pay the $35. You have 10 days to pay this fee. 

Once we receive your registration, we will send an email with confirmation that you're registered with additional information and links for the FCC.
