February 2020

From the desk of KR9T

With the beginning of the year already underway, we need to think about all the activities coming up.  From our newly negotiated agreement with the Northbrook Library for our joint Ham Station to our public service events like the Chicago Marathon, we all play a key part in their success. Advance planning requires some level of commitment and a willingness to participate.  In reviewing all of the activities our club engages in, we have a need for each member to volunteer as much time as they are able to.  After all, the club does not run itself (although it may seem like that to some).

We have a number of committees forming

Including; Community Outreach, Field Day, Social Events, Northbrook Library events, educator/instructor, Photographer, Historian, Hams in the Park, Webmaster Asst.

Even a few hours of your time would benefit our club immensely. A large part of the fun of this club is working with other members, sharing our knowledge and experiences as well as developing our friendships.

Our March Social Event at Lou Malnati's is one way of getting out of our individual shacks and meeting folks with common interests.  I know it's not possible for everyone to attend this event but if successful we'll plan other like events.

This being our 40th year, it is expected to be a banner year for the club. So please join in and help where you can.
73,
