Happy Holidays

As we enter the holiday season, I want to wish all of our great members Happy Holidays.  For me, it is a time to reflect on all of the great accomplishments we have made over the year.  In spite of the continuing pandemic, we were able to hold our virtual club meetings each month this year without fail.  There were interesting presentations and every one of them was well attended.  Our club membership continued to climb to record numbers (224) and our Build and Mentoring activities increased as well.  We continued to support our public service events (Evanston 100 Bike Event and the Chicago Marathon).  We managed to pull off a few Hams in the Park events and look forward to doing it again next year.  Our Fox Hunt was a great success as was our QRP night at Emily Oaks.

As we look forward to next year, we are hoping to establish a hybrid meeting format at Heller so that we can stream our club meetings and allow for in-person attendance at Heller for our future presentations (pandemic rules still pending). The exact timing of this is still pending, so stay tuned.  We hope to expand our Build Club and Mentoring Activities this Spring.  We are also trying to actively support our youth members at both Glenbrook North H.S. and the Central School in Glencoe. We hope to finally open our Ham Station at the Northbrook Public Library and will continue monthly VE testing there throughout the year.  As we find new activities like AREDN to experiment with, we are eager to support new initiatives as well.

Our club has a huge cadre of talent and as we learn from one another, share with one another and communicate, we are extremely fortunate to be a learning environment for both new and experienced hams in all areas of our hobby.  So thanks for being a member and participating as much as you can.  We appreciate each and every one of you.  Relax and enjoy our hobby!

 Happy Holidays and 73,
